Samsung cooktop repair: what to know
Samsung makes gas, radiant electric and induction cooktops. Many induction models use Virtual Flame, which projects LEDs onto the pan so you can see the setting, and the electronics underneath depend on a cooling fan. Gas models use sealed burners with spark electrodes that stop sparking properly when a boil-over soaks them. Radiant tops use a glass surface over ribbon elements, and a crack in that glass means the cooktop has to stay off until the top is replaced.

How we diagnose a Samsung cooktop
Whatever the brand, on a cooktop we check igniters and burner ports on gas; elements, switches and the control board on electric and induction — a gas burner that won't light or flames unevenly almost always has a clogged port or a bad igniter, not a bad valve.
One cooktop symptom that's easy to misread is an induction cooktop throwing an error during long, hot cooking, which is often the unit protecting itself from overheating or poor ventilation rather than a failed board.
What Samsung cooktop repairs usually involve
Parts for Samsung are made in volume and stocked by many suppliers. On a Samsung cooktop, the parts that wear out are mostly inexpensive ones: spark igniters and switches, burner caps and heads, radiant elements and infinite switches.
The bill changes when the fault is an induction power board or a cracked glass top. On a newer unit that can still be a sensible repair; on one well into its working life, it's often the point where replacing makes more sense, and you'll hear that at the diagnosis.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are on the underside of the cooktop or the burner box, often visible from the cabinet below. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Samsung platform you have and which parts to bring.
On gas, make sure each burner cap is seated and the ports are clean and dry. On electric, note whether one element or all of them are out. On induction and touch controls, write down any error code.

Induction only works with cookware a magnet sticks to firmly, and the pan has to cover enough of the zone. Try a cast-iron pan to rule that out. If a suitable pan still isn't detected, the coil, its board or the pan-detection circuit needs testing.
Water or a pot resting on the control area can lock the panel, and many models have a child lock that disables the keys. Dry the glass and check the lock setting. If one key never responds, the touch board may need replacing.
