How a Home Repair Works
- 1
Book the visit
Tell us the appliance, the brand, what it's doing and where it is in the house. We contact you to confirm a time.
- 2
We find the fault
The technician tests the appliance and its connections (water, drain, vent, gas or power) and confirms what failed.
- 3
You approve the price
You get the repair price before any work starts. Renting? It can go to your landlord or property manager instead.
- 4
Repaired and explained
We make the repair, run the appliance to check it, and tell you what failed and why.
Who Books a Home Repair
Homeowners
Kitchen and laundry appliances wherever they are: the kitchen, a utility room, or the garage, where many San Antonio homes keep the washer, dryer and a second fridge or chest freezer.
Renters
Check your lease first: if the appliance came with the home, the landlord usually arranges the repair. You can still request the visit. Give us the landlord's or manager's details and they approve the price.
Landlords & property managers
Book for a tenant-occupied home and we arrange access with the tenant, then report back on what failed, the price and whether the repair is worth doing.
Apartments & condos
Stacked washer-dryers, 24-inch dishwashers and compact ranges. When you book, mention parking, gate or door codes and any building rules for contractors.

Before the Technician Arrives
Safe steps that limit the damage and, in some cases, show the appliance isn't faulty at all. If you rent, tell your landlord or manager straight away as well.
- Water on the floor
- Turn off the supply valve behind or under the appliance, unplug it if you can do so without standing in water, and put towels down.
- Refrigerator warming up
- Keep the doors shut, move the most perishable food to a cooler, and put an appliance thermometer inside so you know how warm it is getting.
- Dryer hot or smelling burnt
- Stop using it. A blocked lint screen or vent is a common cause, and running it again makes things worse.
- Nothing happens at all
- Before booking, check the breaker, and any GFCI outlet on the circuit (common in kitchens, laundry rooms and garages) in case it has tripped.
- Smell of gas
- Don't switch anything on or off. Leave the house and call CPS Energy or 911 from outside.

Home Repair Questions
Being home for the visit, several appliances at once, garage appliances and more.
Ready to book?
Tell us the appliance, the brand and what it's doing, and we'll offer you the earliest appointment we have.
An adult needs to be there to let the technician in and approve the price before work starts. For rentals, let us know who approves the repair ahead of the visit.
We use floor protection when moving appliances, shut off and drain water lines before pulling a dishwasher or plumbed refrigerator, and shut off gas before disconnecting a gas appliance.
Yes. Tell us when you book so we can plan the time. Each repair is quoted separately, and you decide which to go ahead with.
Yes. We're a repair company, not a retailer, so it doesn't matter where the appliance came from. If a previous repair used the wrong part, we'll tell you.
No. Plenty of San Antonio homes keep the washer, dryer or a second refrigerator in the garage. Garage heat does affect how refrigerators and freezers perform, and we'll factor that into the diagnosis.
Yes. If the repair costs too much relative to the appliance's age and condition, we'll say so before you spend anything on it. Built-in and high-end equipment is often the exception, because replacing it can mean cabinet work as well.
Yes. Repairs are warranted for 90 days on parts and 30 days on labor, covering the specific repair we made.
If it may still be under the manufacturer's warranty, yes. Check your paperwork or the manufacturer's website before booking a paid repair, because warranty work generally has to go through the manufacturer's own service network.
Look for a label inside the door or door frame on refrigerators, dishwashers and ovens, under the lid or on the back panel of washers, and inside the door opening on dryers. Microwaves usually have it inside the door frame or on the back. A clear photo of that label is all we need.
