Parts for Whirlpool are made in volume and stocked by many suppliers. On a Whirlpool refrigerator, the parts that wear out are mostly inexpensive ones: fan motors, defrost heaters and thermostats, temperature sensors, door gaskets, water inlet valves and ice makers.

Check that the ice maker's shut-off arm or switch is on and the bucket is seated, then confirm water reaches the fill tube. A frozen fill tube, a failed inlet valve or a badly clogged filter will stop the water. If water arrives but ice never harvests, the ice maker module or its mold heater is the likely fault.
Whirlpool sells its filters under the EveryDrop name, numbered by style (Filter 1, Filter 2 and so on), and the right one depends on where the filter housing sits in your model. The number is usually printed on the old cartridge and in the manual. A mismatched or poorly seated filter can slow the dispenser or stop water altogether.
Look at the back panel inside the freezer: a heavy coat of frost there points to a defrost fault that has blocked the air path to the fresh-food side. If the panel is clear and you can't hear the freezer fan with the door switch pressed in, the evaporator fan is the likely cause. Both are repairable without touching the sealed system.
Cooling starts as soon as the fault is fixed, but a refrigerator that has warmed to room temperature can take up to 24 hours to settle at its set temperatures. Keep perishable food elsewhere until a thermometer confirms it.
