MasterCool units are designed as long-life built-ins, and repairs are usually made with the appliance in place. Because Miele parts come mainly through Miele, the model has to be identified precisely before anything is ordered.

One refrigerator symptom that's easy to misread is a warm refrigerator section above a freezer that still feels fine, which looks like half the appliance dying but most often comes down to an evaporator fan that stopped or an air passage blocked with frost.
Repairing a Miele refrigerator instead of replacing it
Miele builds for a long working life and keeps parts available for years. When one component fails on a Miele refrigerator that's ten or fifteen years old, the rest of the machine often has plenty of life left, which isn't always true of an entry-level appliance at that age.
Miele parts cost more and are more often special-order, so some repairs need a second visit. You'll know the wait before you agree to the repair, and the return visit is booked before we leave.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are on a sticker inside the fresh-food compartment, usually on a side wall near the top or behind the crisper drawers. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Miele platform you have and which parts to bring.
Make sure the vents inside aren't blocked by food, both doors close and seal, and the condenser coils at the bottom or back aren't matted with dust. If the refrigerator is in a garage, note how hot it gets out there.

MasterCool is Miele's built-in line, installed flush with the cabinetry and often panel-ready, with its own components. Miele's freestanding refrigerators are separate designs. The model number on the label inside tells which line you have and which parts apply.
Note the message first, then switch the appliance off at the breaker for a few minutes and back on. If the message returns, it's reporting a real condition, often a sensor, fan or defrost problem, and the message itself helps narrow the diagnosis.
Most repairs are made from inside the cabinet or from the front with the panel left on. Adjusting a sagging door does involve the hinges the panel hangs on. Removing the unit is only needed for some repairs at the back.
Cooling starts as soon as the fault is fixed, but a refrigerator that has warmed to room temperature can take up to 24 hours to settle at its set temperatures. Keep perishable food elsewhere until a thermometer confirms it.
