That compartment depends on cold air ducted up from the freezer, so a failed ice-maker fan, a blocked duct or a torn seal on the compartment door shows up as slow ice, melted cubes or water dripping onto the shelves. The rest of the cabinet follows the usual pattern of evaporator fans, defrost heaters and thermistors.
Worth knowing about Frigidaire: Frigidaire is Electrolux's mainstream North American brand, so the two share many parts and repair procedures and parts are generally easy to get. Also, Frigidaire Gallery and Professional models often share mechanical parts with the base models but not their control boards, so the full model number matters on this brand.

Parts for Frigidaire are made in volume and stocked by many suppliers. On a Frigidaire refrigerator, the parts that wear out are mostly inexpensive ones: fan motors, defrost heaters and thermostats, temperature sensors, door gaskets, water inlet valves and ice makers.
The bill changes when the fault is a main control board or the sealed system (the compressor and refrigerant circuit). On a newer unit that can still be a sensible repair; on one well into its working life, it's often the point where replacing makes more sense, and you'll hear that at the diagnosis.

On models with the ice maker in the fresh-food section, meltwater or frost from the ice compartment can escape if its door seal is torn, the cold-air duct is blocked, or the fill tube freezes and water overflows. Check that nothing is stopping the compartment door from closing. If water keeps appearing, the fan, duct and fill system need testing.
They can be. On a fresh-food ice maker, the freezer can be fine while the small fan that pushes freezer air to the ice compartment has failed or iced over. On a freezer-mounted ice maker, slow production more often points at the water supply, a clogged filter or a scaled inlet valve.
Meltwater from each defrost cycle runs down a drain trough under the evaporator. If that drain freezes or clogs with debris, the water refreezes on the freezer floor instead of reaching the pan underneath. The drain has to be thawed and cleared, and if it keeps freezing, the defrost heater or drain heater clip is worth checking.
Cooling starts as soon as the fault is fixed, but a refrigerator that has warmed to room temperature can take up to 24 hours to settle at its set temperatures. Keep perishable food elsewhere until a thermometer confirms it.
