Most current models use a filter that you remove and rinse by hand rather than a grinding food chopper, so a neglected filter is behind many poor-cleaning and slow-drain complaints. Twist out the filter assembly in the tub floor and rinse it; Frigidaire filters are meant to be cleaned by hand. Then check the drain hose for a kink and, if it drains through a disposal, run the disposal. If the pump hums without moving water, it may be jammed or failed.
It spins and orbits at the same time, so anything poking through the lower rack can stall it. Check that it turns freely by hand and that its jets aren't blocked with scale or food. A stalled arm leaves dishes dirty in the same spots every time.
On very hard water, cloudy film is usually minerals rather than a fault. Use rinse aid, a detergent made for hard water and a hot-water prerun at the sink. If the film wipes off with vinegar it's scale; if it won't, it may be etching.
Not if it's leaking onto the floor, smells of burning or trips the breaker. A dishwasher that leaves water behind or cleans poorly won't be harmed by waiting, but clean the filter first, since it's a common cause of both.
