An Admiral dishwasher is a simple front-control built-in with a basic wash system on a Whirlpool-family platform. It has a filter to keep clean, a drain pump, a circulation motor, an inlet valve and a door latch, and with so few electronics, most faults trace to one of those. On very hard water, the inlet valve and spray-arm holes collect scale over time, which gradually weakens cleaning.
Worth knowing about Admiral: Admiral appliances sold in the U.S. came from Maytag and later Whirlpool, so the parts inside are Whirlpool-family parts. Also, most Admirals still running are old enough that their mechanical parts are still made but some of their electronics are not, and we check which is which before quoting.
