The DishDrawer is Fisher & Paykel's best-known design: one or two independent drawers, each with its own lid that lowers to seal the tub during a cycle. That design has its own weak points. The lid seal, the motor that raises and lowers it, and the flexible wiring that runs through the drawer slide as it opens and closes are the parts to check when a drawer won't start, leaks or shows a fault code. Fisher & Paykel also sells conventional built-in dishwashers.

Clean the filter at the bottom of the tub, check that the spray arms spin freely and their holes aren't plugged, and top up the rinse aid. If water is left standing, check the connection to the garbage disposal as well.

Each drawer is a separate dishwasher with its own pump, lid motor, controls and wiring. One drawer failing tells you the fault is in that drawer's parts rather than the power supply. The error code on that drawer's display narrows it further.
A common cause is the lid seal, which presses down on the tub rim during the cycle. A torn or hardened seal lets water escape at the top of the tub. Check for dishes or utensils sticking up, which stop the lid from sealing.
The lid lowers onto the tub when a cycle starts and lifts when it ends. If the lid motor or its switch fails, the drawer may not start, may stop mid-cycle, or may show a fault code. The lid assembly and its motor are replaceable parts.
Standing water can be a clogged filter, a blocked disposal inlet or a failed drain pump, and poor cleaning can be scale, a blocked arm or a weak wash pump. Testing separates the simple fixes from the part replacements.
