Dacor dishwasher repair: what to know
Dacor dishwashers are 24-inch built-in models, and the panel-ready versions put the controls along the top edge of the door, out of sight when it's closed. That means a fault may show up only as a cycle that won't start, or a code you see once the door is open. Common failure points include the drain pump, the inlet valve, the door latch and a clogged filter, and on San Antonio's very hard water, scale on the spray arms and heater.
Worth knowing about Dacor: on Dacor equipment built before Samsung took over, the proprietary control boards are what's most likely to have gone out of production, and we check that before quoting.

How we diagnose a Dacor dishwasher

Built-in Dacor equipment: what the visit involves
Most Dacor equipment is built into cabinetry or anchored in place, so the visit starts with working out how to reach it. We allow a longer appointment and protect floors, cabinet faces and countertops before anything moves.
It changes the economics as well. Replacing a fitted Dacor dishwasher usually means cabinet or countertop work on top of the new appliance, so a failure that would retire a freestanding unit is usually still a repair here.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are on the edge of the door or the side of the tub, visible when the door is open. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Dacor platform you have and which parts to bring.
Clean the filter at the bottom of the tub, check that the spray arms spin freely and their holes aren't plugged, and top up the rinse aid. If water is left standing, check the connection to the garbage disposal as well.
In San Antonio, keep in mind San Antonio's very hard water — SAWS puts its typical hardness at 15 to 20 grains per gallon — which leaves film on glasses, plugs spray-arm holes and scales the heater, along with a hardness setting on many dishwashers that nobody ever changed.

The door springs are set for a panel of a certain weight. If the custom panel is heavier than specified, or a spring or cable has worn, the door falls instead of easing down. The springs and their tension can be replaced or adjusted.
On panel-ready and many stainless models, the buttons sit along the top edge of the door, so open the door to see them. A dark display there can be a control board fault, but check that a control lock isn't switched on first.
Not always. Filters, spray arms, latches and the control panel are reached from the door or tub. Drain pumps, inlet valves and leak investigations usually mean sliding the dishwasher out, which takes care with a custom panel and the flooring.
