Electrolux stove repair: what to know
An Electrolux stove is usually one of its freestanding or front-control ranges in gas, electric or induction, often with convection and steam or air-fry features in the oven. Surface and oven faults are separate diagnoses: a spark module or induction board on top, and a sensor, element or igniter below. Some Electrolux models add a steam-assisted oven with a small water reservoir that needs descaling on hard water. Like other ranges it must sit on its anti-tip bracket, which is easy to leave off after a move.
Worth knowing about Electrolux: Electrolux shares engineering with Frigidaire and adds upgraded finishes, insulation and its own control electronics, so some parts cross between the two and the boards generally don't. Also, control boards in Electrolux induction cooktops are specific to the model, so on an older cooktop we check the board can still be had before we quote.

How we diagnose an Electrolux stove
Whatever the brand, on a stove we check burners and igniters first, the oven's sensor and element next, the door last — cooktop and oven fail independently, so we pin down which side is actually at fault.
One stove symptom that's easy to misread is a burner that keeps clicking, which usually means a wet or dirty igniter rather than an electrical failure and often stops once the burner is properly cleaned and dried.
Repairing an Electrolux stove instead of replacing it
Electrolux builds for a long working life and keeps parts available for years. When one component fails on an Electrolux stove that's ten or fifteen years old, the rest of the machine often has plenty of life left, which isn't always true of an entry-level appliance at that age.
Electrolux parts cost more and are more often special-order, so some repairs need a second visit. You'll know the wait before you agree to the repair, and the return visit is booked before we leave.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are behind the storage drawer, on the frame behind the oven door, or on the back. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Electrolux platform you have and which parts to bring.
Work out which half has the problem, a burner or the oven. Check that burner caps are seated and the igniters are clean and dry, and note any error code on the control.

Check the oven with an oven thermometer at the center rack. If it runs consistently hot or cold, the temperature sensor is the first part to test. Many models also allow a temperature offset in the settings.
The knobs push onto the valve or switch stems and can loosen or crack with heat. Replacing a knob is simple. If the knob is firm but the burner doesn't respond, the valve or switch behind it may be the issue.
It works best with the tray the manufacturer supplies or specifies, because air has to circulate around the food. If air fry is noticeably worse than it used to be, check that the convection fan is running.
A burner that won't light can be a wet electrode, a clogged port or a failed spark module, and an oven that won't heat can be an igniter, an element or the control. Each needs its own check before a part is chosen.
