LG oven repair: what to know
LG wall ovens and the ovens in LG ranges often use ProBake Convection, which puts a heating element at the back wall with the fan instead of relying only on the floor element. EasyClean is a short, low-temperature cycle that uses water, separate from the high-heat self-clean. InstaView models light the interior when you knock on the glass. When baking goes wrong, the rear convection element, the temperature sensor or a relay on the control board is usually involved.
Worth knowing about LG: most LG appliances have a Smart Diagnosis feature that reports a fault through the LG app or a phone held to the panel, and the result is worth passing along when you book.

How we diagnose an LG oven
Whatever the brand, on an oven we check the temperature sensor and the bake element or igniter, then the door gasket and hinges — a door that no longer shuts flat bleeds off enough heat to pass for a control problem.
One oven symptom that's easy to misread is an oven its owner thinks runs cold that is actually cycling normally around a setpoint a few degrees off, something most models let you correct with a calibration setting instead of a part.
What LG oven repairs usually involve
Parts for LG are made in volume and stocked by many suppliers. On an LG oven, the parts that wear out are mostly inexpensive ones: bake and broil elements, gas igniters, temperature sensors, door gaskets and hinges.
The bill changes when the fault is an electronic control board or, on a gas oven, the safety valve. On a newer unit that can still be a sensible repair; on one well into its working life, it's often the point where replacing makes more sense, and you'll hear that at the diagnosis.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are on the frame behind the oven door, or behind the storage or warming drawer. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which LG platform you have and which parts to bring.
Check the breaker (electric ovens use a double breaker), make sure the control isn't in a delay, lock or Sabbath mode, and on a gas range confirm the cooktop burners still light. Note whether bake, broil or both have stopped.

ProBake uses an element behind the rear panel working with the fan. If either fails, baking slows and browns unevenly even though the display looks normal. If the fan isn't spinning during convection baking, or only convection modes heat slowly, those parts need testing.
EasyClean is a short, low-heat cycle that loosens light soil with water, and it's gentler on the oven. Self-clean runs at very high heat for hours and is harder on door locks, sensors and controls. Use EasyClean for routine cleaning and save self-clean for heavy buildup.
Check that the feature hasn't been switched off in the settings. If the regular oven light works from the panel but knocking does nothing, the knock sensor or its connection is the likely fault.
Igniters, elements and sensors are common parts for many models, so a first-visit repair is often possible. Control boards, door glass and parts for older or less common models may need ordering.
