No. Turn the oven off and switch off its breaker, since a burned-through element can arc against the oven floor. The element is a direct replacement part, and the terminals behind it are checked for burn damage at the same time.
Usually within a minute or two the valve opens and the burner lights. If the igniter glows much longer than that before lighting, or glows without lighting at all, it's too weak to open the valve and should be replaced.
The hinges use springs to hold the door shut, and when a spring breaks or stretches, the door sags open and lets heat escape. Hinges are usually replaced in pairs. Check first that nothing is caught under the door gasket.
Not if it smells of gas, sparks, heats when switched off or trips the breaker. An oven that runs a little hot or cool can be used carefully with an oven thermometer on the center rack.
