Electrolux oven repair: what to know
Electrolux wall ovens, single and double, use true convection with a third element around the fan, and many recent models add steam or air-fry modes. A convection oven that bakes normally but won't convect usually has a fan motor or convection element fault. Steam-assist models draw water from a small reservoir, and hard water leaves minerals that need descaling. Glass-touch controls and a temperature sensor manage the whole oven, so drifting temperatures or fault codes start with the sensor before any board is replaced.
Worth knowing about Electrolux: Electrolux shares engineering with Frigidaire and adds upgraded finishes, insulation and its own control electronics, so some parts cross between the two and the boards generally don't. Also, control boards in Electrolux induction cooktops are specific to the model, so on an older cooktop we check the board can still be had before we quote.

How we diagnose an Electrolux oven
Whatever the brand, on an oven we check the temperature sensor and the bake element or igniter, then the door gasket and hinges — a door that no longer shuts flat bleeds off enough heat to pass for a control problem.
One oven symptom that's easy to misread is an oven its owner thinks runs cold that is actually cycling normally around a setpoint a few degrees off, something most models let you correct with a calibration setting instead of a part.
Repairing an Electrolux oven instead of replacing it
Electrolux builds for a long working life and keeps parts available for years. When one component fails on an Electrolux oven that's ten or fifteen years old, the rest of the machine often has plenty of life left, which isn't always true of an entry-level appliance at that age.
Electrolux parts cost more and are more often special-order, so some repairs need a second visit. You'll know the wait before you agree to the repair, and the return visit is booked before we leave.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are on the frame behind the oven door, or behind the storage or warming drawer. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Electrolux platform you have and which parts to bring.
Check the breaker (electric ovens use a double breaker), make sure the control isn't in a delay, lock or Sabbath mode, and on a gas range confirm the cooktop burners still light. Note whether bake, broil or both have stopped.

Not usually. Each cavity has its own elements, sensor and relay on the control, so one cavity going cold points to parts in that cavity or its relay. The other oven working confirms power is reaching the unit.
Fill the reservoir with the water type the manual recommends and run the descale procedure when prompted. On very hard water, using filtered water slows scale. If steam stops, the pump or lines may be clogged.
Let the oven cool completely; the lock won't release while the cavity is hot. If it stays locked after cooling, switch the breaker off for a minute and back on. If it's still locked, the lock motor or switch needs replacing, and the door shouldn't be forced.
Igniters, elements and sensors are common parts for many models, so a first-visit repair is often possible. Control boards, door glass and parts for older or less common models may need ordering.
