ASKO washer repair: what to know
ASKO washers are 24-inch front-loaders with steel construction and high spin speeds, which pull more water out of a compact drum but put real load on the bearings, suspension and door lock. Many models heat their water internally, so a cold wash can trace to the heater or its sensor. The drain pump has an accessible filter at the front, and a coin or sock caught there is a common reason for a drain fault. Too much detergent leaves excess suds in a compact machine.

How we diagnose an ASKO washer

One washer symptom that's easy to misread is a washer error code taken to mean a broken part when it's describing a situation: an off-balance load, a water valve only partly open, or a drain hose shoved so deep into the standpipe that it siphons.
Repairing an ASKO washer instead of replacing it
ASKO builds for a long working life and keeps parts available for years. When one component fails on an ASKO washer that's ten or fifteen years old, the rest of the machine often has plenty of life left, which isn't always true of an entry-level appliance at that age.

Before the visit
The model and serial number are under the lid or around the door opening, or on the back panel. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which ASKO platform you have and which parts to bring.
Front-loaders have a drain filter behind a small panel at the bottom; check it for socks and coins. Make sure both water valves are fully open and the drain hose isn't pushed too far down the standpipe, and write down any error code.

Turn it off, let the residual water out through the small drain hose beside the pump filter if your model has one, then clean the filter at the lower front. Check that the drain hose isn't kinked behind the machine. If it still won't drain, the pump or its wiring needs testing.
Fast spin puts heavy loads on the drum bearings and suspension. A roaring or grinding noise that grows over time points to bearings, while banging points to worn shock absorbers or a machine that isn't level. Check that the feet are locked and the stacking kit is tight first.
Many ASKO washers heat water with an internal element instead of relying on the water heater. A failed element or temperature sensor leaves washes cold, and hard-water scale shortens element life. Testing both parts shows which one failed.
The same drain or spin error can come from a sock in the pump filter or a failed pump motor, and a washer that won't spin can have a lid-lock, belt or motor-control fault. Testing tells them apart, and the quote is based on what's actually found.
