Viking range repair: what to know
Viking ranges are sold in all-gas and dual-fuel versions across its Professional lines, in widths from 30 to 60 inches, sometimes with griddles or grills built in. Wider ranges can have two ovens, each with its own igniter or elements, so one cavity failing tells you little about the other. On dual-fuel models the electric oven uses bake, broil and convection elements, while the gas top depends on spark ignition and clean burner ports.
Worth knowing about Viking: Viking's open burners run at high output, and spark igniters and clogged burner ports account for more Viking cooktop trouble than the electronics do. Also, Viking oven doors are heavy, and the hinges and springs carrying them wear; a door that no longer seals lets heat escape and looks like a temperature-control fault.

The model and serial number are behind the storage drawer, on the frame behind the oven door, or on the back. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Viking platform you have and which parts to bring.
Check whether the fault is on the cooktop, in the oven or both, since they're diagnosed separately. Make sure burner caps are seated and dry, and write down any error code.

Each oven has its own heat source and controls. The failed side is diagnosed on its own: an igniter or gas valve on a gas oven, or elements, sensor and relays on an electric one.
