Dacor range repair: what to know
Dacor's current ranges are pro-style and dual-fuel models, many 36 or 48 inches wide with gas burners over electric convection ovens, and some with a griddle. Dual-fuel means two diagnoses: gas ignition and burners on top, and 240-volt elements, sensors and relays in the oven. Some newer models add Wi-Fi control. If the app stops connecting but the oven still works from its own controls, the problem is the network module, not the oven.
Worth knowing about Dacor: Dacor burners, elements and igniters are replaceable parts, so mechanical repairs remain worth doing well past the ten-year mark. Also, on Dacor equipment built before Samsung took over, the proprietary control boards are what's most likely to have gone out of production, and we check that before quoting.

One range symptom that's easy to misread is an oven temperature problem pinned on the thermostat when worn door gaskets or hinge springs are letting heat out faster than the element can make it up.
Built-in Dacor equipment: what the visit involves
Most Dacor equipment is built into cabinetry or anchored in place, so the visit starts with working out how to reach it. We allow a longer appointment and protect floors, cabinet faces and countertops before anything moves.
It changes the economics as well. Replacing a fitted Dacor range usually means cabinet or countertop work on top of the new appliance, so a failure that would retire a freestanding unit is usually still a repair here.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are behind the storage drawer, on the frame behind the oven door, or on the back. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Dacor platform you have and which parts to bring.
Check whether the fault is on the cooktop, in the oven or both, since they're diagnosed separately. Make sure burner caps are seated and dry, and write down any error code.

A griddle has its own heat source and control, separate from the burners around it. A failed element or burner, its temperature control or a loose connection under the plate are common causes. Check the griddle setting before suspecting parts.
Most 48-inch ranges have a main oven and a smaller second oven, each with its own elements and sensor. If only one oven fails, the fault is usually in that cavity's parts rather than the shared control.
It shouldn't. The oven should still run from its knobs or panel. If it does, the fault is the network connection or the Wi-Fi module; if the panel is dead too, the main control needs testing.
If the fault is limited to one burner or the oven, and there's no gas smell, sparking or breaker tripping, you can usually use the rest carefully. Any sign of a gas or electrical fault means switching the whole range off.
