LG dryer repair: what to know
Many LG dryers use Flow Sense, which watches exhaust airflow and shows d80, d90 or d95 when the vent is roughly 80, 90 or 95 percent blocked. The dryer keeps running, but loads take longer and the heating parts work harder. Other common faults include worn drum rollers and belts, heating problems on electric or gas models, and a PS code on some electric models that points at a power supply problem at the outlet or breaker.
Worth knowing about LG: LG front-loaders mount the drum straight onto the motor with no belt, so a worn tub bearing or a loose rotor announces itself as rumbling or knocking on spin long before the machine stops. Also, most LG appliances have a Smart Diagnosis feature that reports a fault through the LG app or a phone held to the panel, and the result is worth passing along when you book.

How we diagnose an LG dryer
Whatever the brand, on a dryer we check the airflow path before any electrical part — the vent duct, the flexible connector behind the dryer and the lint path come ahead of any element or thermal fuse, since a choked vent is usually what burned out the previous one.
One dryer symptom that's easy to misread is a dryer that's had its heating element changed twice while the blockage that killed the first one is still sitting in the vent, so the new element overheats and cuts out just like the old one.
What LG dryer repairs usually involve
Parts for LG are made in volume and stocked by many suppliers. On an LG dryer, the parts that wear out are mostly inexpensive ones: thermal fuses, heating elements, gas igniters and valve coils, drive belts, drum rollers, idler pulleys and door switches.
The bill changes when the fault is a control board or the drive motor. On a newer unit that can still be a sensible repair; on one well into its working life, it's often the point where replacing makes more sense, and you'll hear that at the diagnosis.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are inside the door opening or on the back panel. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which LG platform you have and which parts to bring.
Clean the lint screen, then run the dryer on high and feel the airflow at the outside vent. A weak stream points to a restricted vent rather than a failed part. On a gas dryer, check that the gas valve behind it is open.

No. It's a warning that the exhaust is restricted by about 80 percent. Clean the lint screen, then check the transition hose behind the dryer and the outside vent hood. d90 and d95 mean worse restriction, and long vent runs through the attic, common in slab-built homes, clog faster.
On many LG electric dryers, PS points at the power supply: one leg of the 240-volt circuit is missing or the cord is wired incorrectly. Check the breaker first, since a double breaker can trip on one side. If power at the outlet is correct, the cord connection or the control needs testing.
Steam models take water from the cold supply, often through a Y-connector shared with the washer. Make sure the tap is open, then check the small inlet screen, which scales up on very hard water. If water reaches the dryer and there's still no steam, the inlet valve or nozzle needs checking.
Which part failed and how much of the cabinet has to come apart to reach it. A thermal fuse or door switch is small; a heating element, gas valve coils or a full set of drum supports takes more labor; a control board costs the most in parts.
