Clean the lint screen and then the condenser or heat-pump filter, following the manual. A slow increase in drying time is almost always lint buildup in those filters. If cleaning doesn't restore performance, the heater, fan or sensor needs testing.
Make sure the tank is seated fully in its slot. If the dryer is plumbed to a drain, check the drain hose for a kink. If the warning persists, the internal pump or tank sensor may have failed.
No outside vent is needed, but it still needs room around it to release heat, and a closet with no airflow slows drying. A drain line option is also worth using if a drain is nearby.
