A Thermador freezer is usually a Freedom freezer column, installed beside a matching fridge column or on its own, and many include an ice maker. Because the column runs independently, its defrost heater, sensors and evaporator fan are the first things to test when it warms up. The ice maker's fill valve collects mineral scale like any dispenser on hard water. Behind a panel-ready door, a gasket that doesn't seal lets humid air in and builds frost quickly.

Most Thermador equipment is built into cabinetry or anchored in place, so the visit starts with working out how to reach it. We allow a longer appointment and protect floors, cabinet faces and countertops before anything moves.
It changes the economics as well. Replacing a fitted Thermador freezer usually means cabinet or countertop work on top of the new appliance, so a failure that would retire a freestanding unit is usually still a repair here.
Before the visit
The model and serial number are on the inside wall of an upright, or inside the lid or on the back of a chest freezer. A photo of that label is the most useful thing you can send when you book: it tells us which Thermador platform you have and which parts to bring.
Check that the door or lid closes fully and the gasket isn't torn, and look for frost around the opening. If the temperature is climbing, move the food to another freezer or a cooler with ice before the visit.

It can be. Close the door on a strip of paper at several points around the seal; if it slides out easily, the gasket or door alignment is letting air in. If the seal is tight and frost still builds on the back wall, the defrost system is the likelier cause.
Make sure the ice maker is switched on and the water filter isn't overdue, since a clogged filter cuts flow. Then look for ice jammed in the mold or a frozen fill tube. If water isn't reaching the mold at all, the water valve or supply line needs testing.
