The cutter grid uses heated wires to cut the slab into cubes. If one section of the grid fails, the slab doesn't separate properly. The grid and its wiring are checked and replaced if a section is open.
The drain pump moves meltwater to a drain above the unit. If it fails or the discharge line is kinked, water stays in the bin. Check the discharge line first, then the pump.
